NEW YORK, July 12, 2010 – Poker4Life™ takes center stage at World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. Poker4Life Founders, Ethan Ruby and Jeremy Schwartz are playing in the annual main event after winning their WSOP seats via an online tournament. Ruby and Schwartz are using the opportunity to raise awareness of Poker4Life and by asking players ‘who do you play for’.
“I am thrilled to be able to participate in and promote Poker4Life at such a high profile event,” said Ethan Ruby, Founder of Poker4Life. “We are the bridge between poker players and their charities, at the biggest poker event in the world it’s great to see so many people embracing the positive power of poker by giving back.”
Poker4Life™ founders, Ethan Ruby and Jeremy Schwartz made it to day three of the tournament and are now playing alongside 2,600 players. The No-Limit Hold’em Championship tournament kicked off on Monday, July 5 with 8,000 poker players at the Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. Also in attendance, the winner of Poker4Life 2010 Hunter Gray, Bill Gazes, Dee Dozier and the winner of Poker4Life’s National Law Enforcement and Firefighters Children's Foundation charity poker event, Jennifer Berman.
Jeremy Schwartz, Founder of Poker4Life stated, "We are encouraging all players to join the Poker4Life movement and to play for a cause bigger then themselves." “Whether a player is currently playing for a charity or looking to give – we want to know ‘who do you play for’.”
Ruby and Schwartz are staying at the exclusive ARIA Resort & Casino, a premier sponsor of the 2010 Poker4Life event. The spectacular ARIA has dramatically altered the skyline of the Las Vegas Strip and features an unprecedented combination of striking architecture, sustainable design, high-end service and world-class amenities. The WSOP event is airing on ESPN giving even more exposure to the player’s charities.
The 6th Annual Poker4Life event will take place on Thursday, April 28, 2011 in New York City. For more information, visit www.Poker4Life.org.
